POLITICAL EDUCATION COURSE

political+ed.png

The purpose of this four-week course is to get a better understanding of how the government works at the federal, county, and city levels. This course will also cover “Revolutionary Think:” how to think outside the box and not settle for the status quo. The goal is to get Black people and people of color to be active in all levels of governance, run successful campaigns and hold elected officials accountable.

This course is accessible to all regardless of their level of education. Students in this class will regularly attend city council meetings, explore boards and commissions, and attend community and advisory board meetings. Attendees will become more involved in their community so they may encourage policy changes that benefit everyone, guarantee fair implementation of those policies, and hold elected officials accountable.
